About The Sociology Department
The subject sociology was introduced in Kalimpong College on 2nd September 2011 as self-financed course, offering under graduate course.(General/Program).Sociology department was introduced much later after the establishment of the College and is one of the youngest of all the departments in the College. The first faculty of the department was Miss Tabassum Rukshana. This department was started with 10 students who was very much eager to study sociology as their subject. The total no of students studying sociology in the current session is 329(program). The ratio between girls and boys are almost equal. The college provides good working condition. The department and the student share cordial relationship with each other.
